Counting Cyclists
Evan recently posted in his Atlanta By Bike blog about the pollen that has been dumped on Atlanta and this ties in with my photo documenting one way I can count how many cyclists are ahead of me on the road. You can see several bike tracks in the pollen. What I'll do next year is take another photo and compare how many tracks I find.
I was in Intown Bicycles on Monday replacing a tire and was talking with owner Mike Goodman about the number of cyclists. He says his sales season is getting off to a great start and he's hearing stories about more commuters hitting the roads. Maybe we are reaching a tipping point.

I sent my son in Atlanta this post. His response is telling.
"That's nothing...you should see my deck!
The pollen is about 1/4" thick in some spots...I actually saw ripples (like sand in the desert), and there are drifts of pollen in the corners"
It's still cold enough to snow here.
That's some crazy pollen ... I've been having allergy problems here, and I haven't seen anything like that! I don't think I'd be able to breathe well enough to ride a bike with so much pollen everywhere.
What you do is eat it instead of breathing it ;-).
Fewer Clif bars, but you need more water.
Midnight Rider, your son needs to send a picture.
Hahaha, now that's just disgusting!
